2001 Nissan Maxima SE Anniversary Edition
Downstream O2 Sensor Relocation
Pic #2 of the relocated O2 sensor. This is looking back toward the front of the car from the driver's side.
Pic #1 of the relocated O2 sensors in my cat-back. You can ee part of the cross-member at the left hand side of this pic and the beginning of the resonator at the right.
Pic #1 of the copper piping and wiring used to relocate the two downstream O2 sensors to after the main cat. Note: I am only relocating the O2 sensors which were located AFTER each precat. The other two must remain close to the engine (ie in the y-pipe) for proper measurement of the air/fuel ratio.
Pic #2 of the rear side of the copper piping and wiring used to relocate the O2 sensors. You can see it following the brake lines back to the rear of the car (to the left). The blue plug at the left side of this pic is to keep water out of the pipe itself.
Pic #3 of the copper piping and wiring used to relocate the O2 sensors. This pic, rather unclearly I might add, shows the piping I added coming in on the right hand side by the brake lines and heading over to the cross member supporting the engine (ie bottom left).
Pic #4 of the copper piping and wiring used to relocate the O2 sensors. You can see the piping following the cross member along with the adhesive I used in mounting it. The blue plug is visible as is the wiring I used to connect to the original O2 sensor wiring (in the red and white jackets).
Here's a pic of the plug I used to cap off one of the two O2 sensors I relocated. It is a 18mm diameter bolt with a 1.5mm thread. You can find Oil Pan Drain Plugs in this size at your local auto parts store.
